Do you know someone who is
ill, in the hospital, or unable to leave his or her home and join us
for Mass?
We would like to reach out to these people and help them in their time
of need. However, we need you to tell us about them. We are a group
of parishioners who are prepared to offer a number of services to you
and your loved ones, such as:
1) Visiting, praying and talking with them.
2) Placing their name on our parish prayer list.
3) Taking Communion to them.
4) Contacting Fr. Dave and making arrangements for the "Anointing Of
The Sick."
What is the Anointing of the Sick? This is a common question. The Anointing
of the Sick is most likely one of the last sacraments one will receive,
because it is often administered when one becomes seriously ill in order
to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness. The
name by which the sacrament is called has changed over time and has
been referred to as part of the "last rites."
However, the Church now refers to it as, "the Anointing of the Sick."
The focus and intent of the sacrament is the spiritual and physical
strength of the individual during a serious illness.
