Reconciliation Program

It is a two-year program. The child
must attend one full year of religious education prior to their year of
preparation for first reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation
The children need to be attending the
formal religious education classes and special preparation sessions
which include the child's parents
First reception of the sacrament of
Reconciliation usually takes place on the first Saturday in December

- Within the
Diocese of Lansing the celebration of first Reconciliation must take
place prior to the first reception of the Eucharist.
- Celebration of
first Reconciliation will normally take place for children in the
second grade.
- Each child must
have attended the previous year of Faith First (Religious Education)
and be presently attending the session with good attendance.
- The preparation
for the reception of first Reconciliation takes place outside of the
regular Faith First sessions.
- Parent and child
attend four (4) meetings with their child. Notes are sent home to
inform families of the dates and times of the meetings.
- The celebration
of the sacrament of First Reconciliation takes place on the first
Saturday of December as the children prepare their hearts for the
birth of our Lord at Christmas.
- Any child (3rd - 8th grade) who would like to
celebrate this sacrament is most welcome.
