The Confirmation program here at St. Joe's is a 1 year program with a Confirmation Retreat at the end of the year. We Confirm students in the 8th grade. If you are in 9th - 12th grade and are not in a Confirmation preparation program or have not made your Confirmation yet, now is the time to sign up for the
St. Joseph Confirmation program.

The Confirmation preparation program here at St. Joe's takes the place of the regular Youth Ministry program and will meet on Wednesday evenings to learn about what the Sacrament of Confirmation is and what it calls us to be. The official schedule is available to the left.

The official date of Confirmation has not been made available to us yet from the Office of the Bishop. When we know of the official date, it will be posted here and we will notify you.

Confirmation Preparation Policies

  • Candidates are required to actively participate in all Confirmation Preparation sessions.
  • Students will be permitted three (3) unexcused absences. After the third unexcused absence, the parent and student will have to meet with the Pastor (Fr. Dave) prior to returning to class and being once again eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation with the class.
  • Due to the importance of attending every session, if the Candidate is unable to attend a session, notification to the Coordinator of Youth Ministry, either by phone (517) 265-8938 or by email youth@stjosephadrian.com is required prior to the absence.
  • Any student who misses more that 50% of the Confirmation Program class sessions, in any combination of excused or unexcused absences will not be eligible to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation that year and will have to take the classes over the following year.
  • Class sessions can be made up either through written documentation from the parent or guardian that the material was covered at home or through written documentation of an equal amount of community service time. Class materials will be made available in the Youth Ministry Office for the parent and student to go over together upon request.
  • As always, we need to have a copy of the Diocesan Health History & Medical Release Form on file prior to participation in any program.

If you have any questions or concerns about our Confirmation Preparation Program here at St. Joe's, please feel free to contact Paul Davis by stopping in to the Youth Ministry Office, by calling (517) 265-8938 or by e-mail at youth@stjosephadrian.com.
